COP27 and energy transition: solutions to climate change must be decided with Indigenous peoples 

Faced with the increase in non-metallic mineral extraction projects for the electromobility industry, as is the case of lithium in Chile, representatives of Indigenous communities expressed their concern about the lack of state control and the greenwashing of mega-mining,  in various panels at the COP 27 – UN Climate Change Conference.

OPSAL’s documentary “Water is worth more than lithium” to be shown at international festival

The third version of the Global Extraction Film Festival (GEFF), a film festival that aims to show the destructive impacts of extractive industries worldwide, will be held between 26-30 october. This year’s program includes more than 250 documentaries and short films from 50 countries. Among them, “Andean Salt flats: Water is worth more than lithium”, a documentary by the Plurinational Observatory of Andean Salt Flats (OPSAL in Spanish) that shows the impacts of non-metallic mining in the salt flats of Chile, Argentina and Bolivia.

Documental “Salares andinos: El agua vale más que el litio” de OPSAL es exhibido en festival internacional

Entre este miércoles 26 y domingo 30 de octubre se realizará la tercera versión del Global Extraction Film Festival (GEFF), festival de cine que tiene como objetivo mostrar los impactos destructivos de las industrias extractivas a nivel mundial y que este año incluye una programación con más de 250 documentales y cortometrajes de 50 países. Entre ellos, “Salares Andinos: El agua vale más que el litio”, documental del Observatorio Plurinacional de Salares Andinos (OPSAL) que evidencia los impactos de la minería no metálica en los salares de Chile, Argentina y Bolivia.
